Since 1950, Pirelli has helped Formula 1 teams, including well-known manufacturers such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati, win championships and races on tall, narrow tires. But the upcoming 2022 Formula 1 season will see a change, from 13in to 18in.
The P Zero F1 tire will have the same tread width as current tires, measuring 305mm on the front and 405mm at the rear, but the overall diameter will grow from 660mm to 720mm. Five new compounds and a low-profile sidewall will also feature.
In this video, the tire maker explains the upcoming changes in detail.
