Nokian Tires has released a video explaining how the aramid fibers present within its latest tire products provide mechanical strength by meshing together with the rubber to increase the overall strength of the tire.
The tire maker says that, through developing tires with these materials, the same as those found in bullet-proof vests, it has created a tire that is more resistant to damage from road defects, such as potholes created by freeze-thaw scenarios, without adding weight.
Nokian noted that its recently released Nokian Tyres One and the Nokian Tyres One HT, designed for use on passenger and commercial vehicles, both feature its latest aramid fiber technology in all of the currently available sizes.
