Tires from two Falken series have been chosen as original equipment for the new Toyota Corolla models, which have been available since March 2019. The new vehicles will be fitted with the Ziex ZE914B EcoRun tire (top) in sizes 225/40 R18 92 W XL and 225/45 R17 91 W; and for saloon models, the Sincera SN832B tire (below) in size 205/55 R16 91 V.
The Ziex ZE914B EcoRun is said to offer outstanding handling and braking capability, even in wet conditions, and has been modified to reflect the advanced requirements of hybrid drive vehicles, with its much lower rolling resistance.
The Falken Sincera SN832B was the tire maker’s first energy-saving tire and has undergone continual advancements since its introduction. It is claimed to provide superior wet grip, plus excellent aquaplaning behavior coupled with high fuel efficiency.
Both models are manufactured at the SRI plant in Turkey and are fitted to the vehicle at Toyota’s factories in Castle Donington, UK, and Sarkaya in Turkey.
