On Day 2 of Tire Technology Expo 2015, visitors were continuing to discover major new product launches and hearing important industry announcements. The latter included the news that, just four days before the start of the show, Erhardt+Leimer completed the acquisition of fellow exhibitor, Dr Noll. The move creates what is claimed to be the biggest supplier of profile scanners and laser measurement equipment in the industry.
“We have the best products, but Erhardt+Leimer has the best marketing support,” said Dr Albrecht Noll, founder of Dr Noll GmbH. “It’s an advantage for us to have such good sales and service support all over the world. I think we have a big future together.”
Noll himself has retained the rights to his former company’s finished tire scanners and will set up a new company to sell them, Weno Laser and Geometry Measurements. It will be based in the same building as Dr Noll’s previous premises in Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
Noll, who alongside Bytewise was a pioneer in laser profile measurement more than 20 years ago, revealed that the deal with Erhardt+Leimer was first discussed at Tire Technology Expo in 2014. He predicts further consolidation to come in the profile measurement sector.
Tire Technology Expo is open until Thursday, February 12 in Hall 11.1 at Koeln Messe, Cologne, Germany. For more information go to www.tiretechnology-expo.com.
