Applus IDIADA will be attending Tire Technology Expo 2016 with updates on its new proving ground in Shandong province, China. This facility for which construction began in 2013, is due to open in June and will be fully operational in 2018. It features 16 tracks including wet tracks, a skid pad and areas for handling and braking tests, as well as workshops for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
There will initially be around 30 experts based at the facility, all of whom will be relocated from IDIADA’s facility in Spain, while new staff will also be hired locally. The team will be gradually increased to around 70-100 people.
Applus IDIADA can support tire developers in subjective and objective tire analysis and has experience in a range of tire testing activities including braking, handling and aquaplaning, as well as NVH, wear and rolling resistance analysis. Applus IDIADA’s experts are also highly experienced in tire model generation.
A number of employees will be bilingual. Services such as transfers will be provided; ICPG is working to secure agreements with key companies for logistics and sample management (vehicle and/or components).
Applus IDIADA will be exhibiting at booth C726 at Tire Technology Expo 2016 on February 16-18, at the new venue of Deutsche Messe in Hannover, Germany.
