Orion Engineered Carbons has named Erik Thiry as the new senior VP, rubber carbon black, effective immediately. Thiry was the senior VP, business development, and a member of the executive management team since May 2012. In his former position Thiry worked closely with both the rubber and specialty carbon black business lines. He also has over 15 years of experience in management consulting, including the chemical industry, at a global consulting firm.
In this role Thiry will provide leadership to the business line on a worldwide basis. He will also continue to support the business development function for the time being. Thiry holds a Master’s degree in business management and mechanical engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany.
