The new Lexus LC500 is to come fitted with Pilot Super Sport ZP tires, which were designed with handling and performance in mind.
During an intensive development period, the project involved more than 1,200 prototype tires and countless hours of testing at Michelin facilities in Greenville, South Carolina, USA, and Ladoux, France, as well as at Toyota’s Higashi-Fuji proving ground in Susono City and the Japanese Automobile Research Institute in Shirosato, Japan.
Meanwhile, in Europe, Michelin has equipped more than 3,000 vehicles – in Germany, France, Sweden, the UK and Spain – with ultra-sophisticated electronic sensors that transmit in real time information about usage, temperature conditions and how motorists drive. This mechanism for analyzing driver behavior and usage in real time has made it possible to collect information concerning 38,000,000km of travel over several months.
