Kumho will launch the Wattrun tire developed especially for electric vehicles at the 66th IAA Cars in Frankfurt, Germany, next week (September 17-27). The South Korean tire company claims the tire is 25% lighter than competing products and offers improved braking on wet roads as well as low levels of noise.
Also on display will be new run-flat tires with enhanced safety features, and self-sealing-tires, which prevent air leakage in the event of a puncture.
Kumho Tire will also present concept tires developed for SsanYong’s SUV Tivoli concept vehicles – XAV and XIV. Specifically designed for off-road driving, the XAV features a tread pattern modeled on the footprint of the mountain goat and offers excellent traction, reduced noise and optimum driving ability on muddy terrain. The XIV boasts superb wet weather performance and is notably quieter than rival SUV products.
