A new QuadDS Mechanical Simulation driving simulator has been installed at Canadian Tire’s newest store in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to enable customers to analyze the value of snow tires compared to all-season tires. The simulator includes a Canadian Tire-branded driving environment in which customers can select between four different vehicles.
Once the customer begins driving, sales associates can instantaneously change the tires on the vehicle and change the driving conditions from dry pavement, to wet pavement, or to snow/ice. The driving course features four driving surfaces that are found on typical automotive proving grounds. These include an instrumented acceleration/braking road, a double-lane change road, a hill climb course, and a skid pad. This level of interactivity and immersive driving provides a valuable tool to help customers understand the benefits of snow tires by performing real world driving maneuvers in a safe and repeatable environment.
