Apollo Tyres has introduced a high-mileage passenger car tire – the Apollo Amazer 4G Life – for the Indian market. This tire was developed jointly by the company’s global R&D centers in Chennai, India, and Enschede, the Netherlands, with a focus on high mileage.
Satish Sharma, president, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Apollo Tyres said, “This tire is the result of an intensive market study done by our internal team in the past 2-3 years to assess the gap in the tires available in the market. This product gap, along with feedback from the customers, was addressed by our R&D team in the development of this technologically advanced tire, which offers superior longevity, particularly for the Indian road conditions. Our controlled test results have proven that the tire can go up to 100,000km and beyond.”
The Amazer 4G Life features a next generation tread compound and a six-layered structure, which improve resistance to cuts and punctures. The robust buttress area decreases the likelihood of pinholes and micro punctures and the square footprint with equal pressure distribution provides longer life and also results in even tread wear. The tire was developed heavily through simulation and tested on real life roads extensively.
