Bicycle tire manufacturer Vittoria has added the Corsa N.EXT to the Corsa family of Competition category road tires – filling a gap between the company’s Pro Competition and Advance Training road tire categories.
Vittoria’s design engineers drew on racing expertise and the known durability of a long-lasting nylon casing that uses a specific silica and graphene compound for improved rolling efficiency, grip and longer wear-life. Having undergone extensive testing at Vittoria’s laboratory over thousands of kilometers with professional teams, the compound – called N.EXT – has been proven to deliver excellent puncture resistance, comfort and wet grip.
The silica which is added to the graphene aids in boosting tire performance by delivering longer mileage over time and better grip. Other performance gains which the Corsa N.EXT provides include a high level of casing resistance for added puncture protection. Produced using a high-quality nylon fabric, the center section of the tire benefits from three layers of nylon and an additional puncture protection belt. For extra tire protection a chafer – consisting of another layer of nylon around the bead – has been added.
The tire’s tread features spaced directional grooves in the center for a wider contact surface, and this also helps to improve rolling efficiency. The Corsa N.EXT’s side tread benefits from closely spaced directional grooves to enhance grip and handling when cornering. The manufacturer has also added a QR code on the tire which riders can scan to access information such as recommended tire pressures or inner tubes.
