Smithers, a provider of testing, consulting, information. and compliance services, has announced that two of its experts, Bruce Lambillotte and Brad Sellers, will deliver a webinar titled ‘Tire Components 103: Reinforcements’ on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 11:00am EDT.
The webinar will deliver a deep dive into three categories of tire reinforcements: belts, body plies, and overlays. Lambillotte and Sellers will go into detail on the composition, construction and adhesion mechanisms of these reinforcements as well as their function and purpose. They will also discuss how tire reinforcements affect and contribute to tire performance.
“Reinforcements provide rigidity, protection, and bonding within the structure of the tire,” said Lambillotte, vice president of technical consulting for the Smithers Materials Science and Engineering division. “Brad and I want our attendees to walk away from this webinar with a stronger understanding of these components that create the critical skeleton of the tire.”
