Swede Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, who became the first woman to win a race in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship last year, has been taken on as test driver for Continental’s new, high-performance tires being developed for the Extreme E rally series.
She said, “This is a great project, I’m really happy to drive the electrically powered SUV prototypes and hope to raise awareness about climate change all over the world. I’m really looking forward to being a test driver for the Extreme E tires from Continental. You can follow the individual steps of development and the test drives online. It’s going to be an extraordinarily thrilling journey until the first races of the Extreme E series.”
German tire manufacturer Continental was the official founding partner of the Extreme E racing series, which was launched by the founders of the FIA Formula E, and will see electric SUV prototypes race on tracks across the globe.
