The PremiumContact 7 from Continental has clinched first place in the joint annual summer tire test conducted by the ADAC, ÖAMTC and TCS automobile clubs. The tire took the top spot on both wet and dry surfaces, surpassing 15 competitors in the 215/55 R 17 size.
The tire secured the top score for driving safety and in the wear test it achieved very good mileage and demonstrated low abrasion.
In terms of braking distances, the PremiumContact 7 required just 35m from 100 km/h on dry roads and 28m from 80 km/h on wet. It provided “good feedback” to the steering wheel, Continental states, and delivered reliable performance at the limits, earning praise from drivers for its safety and controllability in wet handling conditions.
The comprehensive test evaluated 16 tire models from various international brands; the 215/55 R 17 tire dimension is suitable for medium-size SUVs and passenger vehicles.
“In this year’s test the Continental PremiumContact 7 defines the benchmark on both dry and wet roads and thus secures the top rating,” the experts wrote.
