The Tire Industry Project (TIP) has announced the launch of its first open call for projects (OCP). The initiative seeks projects that help advance sustainability practices and environmental stewardship within the tire industry on a global scale.
TIP intends to provide financial support to research projects focused on the assessment and measurement of tire wear emissions, and the development of mitigation measures.
Projects eligible for funding are expected to introduce new research concepts, preferentially resulting in peer-reviewed scientific journal publications. The projects could also integrate activities such as field sampling campaigns, chemical and particle characterization of emissions, data analysis and modeling of tire wear emissions, and development of TRWP and leachate mitigation measures and/or advancing the evaluated mitigation technologies.
“The open call for projects attests to TIP’s commitment to supporting high-quality scientific research and evidence-based progress focused on the mitigation of tire wear emissions and their diverse impact. We are reaching out to further broaden TIP’s relationships with researchers and experts in this field,” said Larisa Kryachkova, executive director at TIP.
Those interested are encouraged to visit https://tireindustryproject.org/open-call-for-projects/ for more information on the OCP, including specifics of the selection process. The deadline for submission is January 17, 2025 (17:00 CET). An evaluation committee consisting of TIP members and external experts will review and select applications.
