At Tire Technology Expo 2024, SEW-Eurodrive is presenting its DriveRadar IoT Suite, a solution for industrial gear units.
The suite serves as a condition monitoring and predictive maintenance system, capturing and analyzing operating data from industrial gear units. The suite allows users to predict drive behavior, proactively plan maintenance and repairs and prevent unexpected downtime.
Sascha Nagel, industry segment and account manager at SEW-Eurodrive, said, “Tire Expo is one of the few European industry events that focuses on the production of a tire. It is therefore clearly the place to be for us, where we can present our solutions for the tire industry and discuss them with our partners and hopefully also new customers.
“In addition, this trade fair also offers the opportunity to find out firsthand what issues are driving tire manufacturers and machine builders and to draw conclusions for our own portfolio.”
The IoT Suite offers benefits in applications like tire extrusion. By leveraging high-precision sensor technology and advanced machine learning methods, this suite measures and evaluates all critical mechanical parameters of industrial gear units. Analysis algorithms can pinpoint anomalies directly to specific components, giving an overview of the health status through a comprehensive web application or app.
“If there are any relevant changes in condition, the system will notify you and provide you with initial recommendations for action. The suite provides you with a fast, online overview of your devices and visualizes the condition of your gear unit and all components as well as forecasts and trend information comprehensively,” added Nagel.
Continuous monitoring and a clear, intelligent display means the user can proactively plan ahead, knowing how long their gear unit will continue working without faults. The forecasts calculated by the system mean you can plan service and maintenance activities preventively.
Nagel encourages visitors to come to the booth: “Customers stand to gain significant advantages, including minimized downtime, reduced maintenance costs and targeted troubleshooting. For further insights, visit our booth!”
