4Jet is using Tire Technology Expo in Hannover, Germany to launch its newest product for laser uniformity correction, the LUC. The solution enables precise, touchless, digital post-processing of tire beads to improve uniformity. The latest process optimizes tire performance and replaces mechanical reworking, which uses grinding processes.
The LUC processes tires without touching them or leaving any visible marks on the bead. Its maintenance-free, dry and quiet laser vaporizes the material that needs to be removed, before extracting it locally.
The 4Jet solution uses Core4 software, which enables convenient recipe creation and parameterization, and integration with belt interfaces and manufacturing execution systems (MES). It also has modules for analysis, remote maintenance and service. The handling components of the system are based on the company’s solutions for tire marking and inner tire cleaning.
The company is also showcasing a range of other technologies for tire marking, mold cleaning, innerliner cleaning, tire inspection and laser tire carving. Furthermore, Florian Schreiber, vice president of sales at 4Jet, will give a presentation on ‘technical and efficiency developments in tire manufacturing’ at 5pm on Tuesday, March 21 at the Tire Technology Expo Conference.
