Karsten Jung, director of the Rubber Machinery division at Troester, reveals how the company plans to meet the evolving needs and priorities of its customers
Why is Tire Technology Expo a key show for the company?
Tire Technology Expo has become Troester’s most important trade show in the tire segment. A packed exhibition space accommodates all fields and well-known exhibitors and the number of exhibitors that makes the trade show so attractive to customers.
What trends will Troester be focusing on at this year’s show?
We’re noticing continued growth in the tire business, even if the past few months have been defined by caution where investment’s concerned. We’re noticing that our customers are having to produce in small lots more frequently than in previous years – that’s why we’re focusing on developing products for small lots/fast changeovers.
Our customers are placing an increasingly strong emphasis on ensuring documentation requirements are met in order to verify quality. Consequently, another of Troester’s developmental focuses is on quality certification and closed loops. In this area, we’re working on getting x-ray gauges like TreadScan or more precise continuous weighing scale, which are fine-tuned in the dynamic process, fit for the tough conditions on production lines in the tire industry. These extremely accurate measurement results are then integrated into the closed loops on extrusion and calendering lines in order to create a first-class product and document its quality on a consistent basis.
A team of specialists from Troester will be present at Tire Technology Expo 2019 to explain the latest technological developments and to answer visitors’ questions. Among those taking part will be Stefan Böttcher (sales director, tire), Gerald Fromm, Jan Harting, Emilian Stolorz and Paul Treigel.
In 2019, in addition to a stand at the expo, we are also offering an in-house showcase at our Hannover plant, which will include hose manufacturing machines and extrusion heads.
