Jukka Antila, technical director at Test World in Finland, will discuss winter tire testing challenges in his presentation on Day 2 of the Tire Technology Conference at the Expo in Hannover, Germany, next week. Antila will address the challenges of testing on snow and ice, and wet and dry surfaces, and will highlight the facility’s expertise in this area.
Antila will also provide a unique insight into Test World’s indoor tire testing facilities including Indoor 1 and 2 facilities, which are laid with expertly prepared natural snow from March to December. Outdoor tracks are available for the rest of the testing season on snow from November to April. An extension of the indoor facilities is expected in future.
