Research from Goodyear has revealed that motorists prioritize safety over vanity when it comes to selecting tires. Over a third of those surveyed (36%) said safety is the most important reason to have an innovative feature on a car, rather than whether the feature looks good (2%). Practicality ranked second highest (34%).
As few as 1 in 10 (10%) drivers said that having the latest technology in their car is of the highest importance to them, and when asked to rank features in order of importance, 13% said their satnav, 4% said cruise control and autonomous capability, and 9% admitted they couldn’t live without their Bluetooth device.
The tire manufacturer also asked drivers to suggest one feature they would invent for their dream car and has combined the suggestions into a fully autonomous concept vehicle.
