Continental has recently expanded the size range of its bladders designed for UHP tires. This curing bladder line incorporates the latest technology in bladder contour, compound, and surface treatment to provide a product that is designed specifically to fit the low profile shape of ultra-high performance tires. Sizes can be ordered to fit all common press types with foot diameters to meet any clamp design criteria.
The Continental bladder design group has used state-of-the-art FEM techniques to create a curing bladder profile that is optimized to match the relatively square shoulder contour of a UHP tire. This minimizes the problem of air trapped between the tire and the curing bladder during the initial shaping of the tire in the curing press.
