The US Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) is organizing a Capitol Hill fly-in for its tire manufacturing ambassadors to discuss critical issues affecting the tire manufacturing sector and the communities it serves. This annual ambassadors program aims to highlight the economic impact, infrastructure solutions and sustainability efforts of the industry to policymakers.
Each ambassador represents one of USTMA’s 12 member companies, bringing a diverse range of expertise from engineering and business operations to marketing and human resources.
During their visit to Capitol Hill, they will engage with congressional offices to discuss measures to improve road safety, tire innovation, environmental stewardship and job creation in the domestic manufacturing sector. These ambassadors provide a unique perspective on how industry-related legislation affects their work and communities.
In February, USTMA sent a letter to congressional leadership outlining the industry’s legislative priorities, focusing on tire safety, environmental stewardship, innovation and standardized access to vehicle data assets.
“The US tire manufacturing industry is vibrant and innovative, delivering products that enable safe, sustainable mobility for our society, consumers and businesses. Our industry is an integral part of our nation’s economy, supporting more than 800,000 jobs across the country, from those in tire manufacturing plants to the tire dealers who sell and service our products to suppliers that provide raw materials and services,” said Anne Forristall Luke, USTMA president and CEO.
“Our ambassadors represent the people who work in the industry every day, making them the best advocates to speak on the impact of tire manufacturing on our national economy and in our communities.”
