The Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association has selected Satish Sharma, president of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa at Apollo Tyres, as its new chairman.
Having worked for two decades at Apollo Tyres, Sharma has held several important positions including chief marketing officer and chief of Indian operations.
The ATMA is a key link between tire manufacturers and the government and assists in relevant policy formulation in the tire industry. It regularly publishes industry data and brings out status notes on industry issues. The ATMA is governed by a managing committee, which is assisted by expert groups in areas such as marketing, exports, purchase of raw materials, taxation and technical.
