Marangoni division TRM and Leader Rubber, a retread specialist in South Africa, have strengthened their partnership. Africa is said to be the fastest growing market in the retreading business and TRM has already installed more than 50 machines at retreading facilities across the continent.
Leader Rubber CEO Brett Sproson recently visited the TRM headquarters in Italy to learn more about activities there and inspect the buffers that will be delivered to the African market.
In addition to the traditional retreading machines such as the buffers and building systems, the Black Swan, TRM’s proprietary strip winding technology for cushion gum application, has been confirmed as the top seller due to its high quality, flexibility and low manpower requirements. TRM managing director Alessandro Villa said, “We have forecasted a double digit growth for these machines.”
Sproson commented, “We are evolving from being a reseller to becoming a full service provider and manager of spare parts and preventive maintenance packages for our customers.”
