Wisconsin-headquartered Rockwell Automation, a provider of industrial automation and digital transformation technologies, has entered a multi-year collaboration with Prometeon Tyre Group, an industrial tire manufacturer headquartered in Italy, to “transform global tire manufacturing processes”.
The goal of the program, which spans facilities in Italy, Turkey, Egypt and Brazil, is to enhance Prometeon’s digitalization strategy, with Rockwell Automation implementing its manufacturing execution system (MES) to enable digital integration across all Prometeon’s global facilities.
The project, according to the companies, is intended to replace the current systems and create a standardized technological environment, with anticipated benefits including enhanced operational efficiency, improved labor utilization, increased productivity, and reduced cost of quality and compliance.
“Drawing from our experience of working with other international tire brands, we can provide a holistic, flexible approach to digital transformation in the tire industry,” said Dan Paul, global business director, tire industry, Rockwell Automation.
“Together with Prometeon Tyre Group we have arrived at digital solutions that are designed to be both standardized and maintainable across Prometeon Tyre Group’s diverse global operations.”
