Since October 14, Goodyear’s Wrangler DuraTrac tires have been put through their paces on the Land Rover Experience Tour. During the four-week expedition, a selection of international participants drove the new Land Rover Discovery SUVs, fitted with Wrangler DuraTrac tires, and tackled a variety of road conditions.
The tire is designed to cope with the toughest of terrains, including sand dunes, sharp edged gravel, riverbeds and high angle mountain roads, all of which the participants will encounter.
For off-road sections, Goodyear’s TractiveGroove technology enhances traction on mud and snow. Furthermore, the self-cleaning shoulder blocks rapidly evacuate gravel, dirt and mud. When driving on-road, highly angled center tread blocks improve the vehicle’s traction and lateral stability, while reducing road noise.
“Goodyear can rely on an outstanding track record of designing and manufacturing award-winning 4×4 tires. Our relationship goes back to the 1970s, when Goodyear was fitted to the first Range Rover, and it continues with the development of next-generation tires today,” said Christian Uhrig, head of marketing communications at Jaguar Land Rover in Germany.
“Needless to say, we are excited to have Goodyear on board as our exclusive tire partner for the 2017 Land Rover Experience Tour.”
