The latest 911 GT3 RS from Porsche has completed a lap of the 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 6:49.328 minutes equipped with Michelin Pilot Cup 2 R tires.
Porsche’s newest motorsport-oriented road car can now be fitted with the ultra-high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R as an optional extra from factory. Working in tandem with the vehicle’s vast aerodynamic package, the tire’s newly developed structure delivers the 911 GT3 RS with a greater amount of stability when cornering at high speeds – a necessary requirement when completing a lap of the ‘Green Hell’ at race pace.
Michelin’s Pilot Cup 2 R benefits from new, wider dimensions to further provide the car with higher levels of traction and grip, in addition to the company’s latest rubber compound for added durability during harsh driving scenarios.
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS used to complete the lap around the Nürburgring Nordschleife featured a size 275/35ZR20 (102Y) XL on the front axle, and a size 335/30ZR21 (109Y) XL on the rear.
