Michelin has been selected by Pilatus as the exclusive supplier of the Pilatus PC-24, billed as the world’s first “Super Versatile Jet”. Designed for business, freight, medical evacuation, shuttle or special government mission applications, this business jet can take off and land on paved and unpaved runways, such as grass or gravel, increasing accessibility at nearly 40,000 airports worldwide and positioning passengers, goods and patients much closer to their final destination.
Increasing this level of mobility is the Michelin Air aviation tire, which has been selected as the original fitment for both the main and nose tires for the Pilatus jet. This bias tire is engineered with what Michelin terms highly durable rubber compounds and special sidewall compounds for long-term ozone and UV-light protection. The extra-strong sidewalls are enhanced to provide for nose landing-gear safety while Michelin Air is designed overall to provide excellent hydroplaning resistance and smooth taxiing.
“We are honored to know that Pilatus recognizes Michelin as a trusted partner for its original-equipment needs,” said Robert Sevener, global lead for Michelin general aviation. “The Michelin Air is designed to provide Pilatus with safe, reliable and durable performance during these take-offs and landings when a smoothly-paved runway is not always an option.”
The PN 019-545-0 nose tire and PN 026-674-0 main tire are now available worldwide.
