Yokohama has announced that it is supplying its Advan V61 tires as OE equipment for Mazda’s new SUV, the CX-80. The two tire size options are 235/60R18 103V and 235/60R18 107V.
The Advan V61 is part of Yokohama’s flagship and popular Advan line, stated to deliver handling along with a quiet and comfortable driving experience.
The V61 has been designed for high wear resistance and good wet performance making it a good choice for the Mazda CX-80. In addition, the tire’s low rolling resistance improves fuel efficiency without sacrificing other critical features, according to Yokohama.
Yokohama says it developed the V61 tires specifically for the Mazda CX-80, using a proprietary AI-driven framework, HAICoLab (Humans and AI Collaborate). This system uses AI to merge human ingenuity with vast data processing, providing advanced predictive and analytical capabilities. Through HAICoLab, Yokohama optimized the tire tread pattern, profile and structure to work with the CX-80’s design and performance.
One highlight of the Advan V61 is its noise reduction, achieved using genetic algorithms that determine an optimal pitch sequence, which is used to improve cabin quietness.
