The tires, supplied in a 235/55R19, feature Kuhmo’s K-Silent system, a sound absorbing technology that the company says means the tires emit less resonant noise than other alternatives due to a polyurethane foam insert within the tire’s construction.
Both the HP71 and PS71 feature other properties that make them well suited for EV applications, including a low rolling resistance, a higher level of grip and improved anti-wear characteristics.
“The low resonance noise tires we have developed with our proprietary K-Silent system for the Kia EV6 demonstrate our ability to meet the needs for sustainable mobility,” commented Kim Insoo, senior vice president, OE sales, Kumho Tire.
“In line with the vision embodied in our slogan ‘Your Smart Mobility Partner’, we will continue to grow with our customers by developing advanced technologies and products in response to the fast transition to future-oriented vehicles.”
