Hyundai Motor Group has chosen Continental as tire supplier for the Tucson, approving three of its models for the SUV to cater to various driving needs across different regions.
Worldwide, Hyundai Tucson models come equipped with either the energy-efficient EcoContact 6 or the comfort-focused PremiumContact 6 tires and for Asia-Pacific, Hyundai has given the nod to the CrossContact LX Sport, designed to tackle light off-road conditions.
The EcoContact 6 tire features a specialized rubber compound that minimizes energy absorption and rolling resistance, enabling a lower energy consumption in combustion engines and extended range in electric vehicles.
The EcoContact 6, Continental says, provides reliable grip on both dry and wet surfaces, short braking distances, and reduced rolling noise, ensuring a comfortable driving experience.
The PremiumContact 6 tire prioritizes safety and comfort. Its unique rubber compound provides good safety and wet braking capabilities, and the optimized tire design enhances cornering stability. The model also offers responsive handling and precise steering on various road conditions, contributing to a safe and comfortable driving experience.
In Asia-Pacific, Hyundai Tucson owners can opt for the CrossContact LX Sport tire in size 18in. This variant provides short braking distances on dry and wet roads and provides effective traction on and off the road. Its reinforced sidewall enhances durability, protecting against damage from external factors such as stone chips, Continental says. The CrossContact LX Sport also features a tire profile designed for low rolling resistance, enhancing fuel efficiency, and a uniform sipe arrangement that reduces rolling noise, ensuring a quiet driving experience.
