Goodyear will supply two original equipment tire options for the new Land Rover Defender. The revamped off-roader relaunches after a radical redesign for 2020, and the tire manufacturer will offer the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac as fitment options.
The Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure is available in 18in, 19in and 20in wheels. According to Goodyear, this all-round tire allows drivers of the new Defender to enjoy a very high level of riding comfort, and at the same time leave the road at any time and face off-road tracks with absolute confidence.
The tire has a reinforced Kevlar carcass to give consistency, also contributing to the prevention of punctures and perforations during off-road use. The shoulders have DuraWall technology that shield against punctures or breaks in the tire wall area, which Goodyear says is useful when driving on rocky areas. This tire also features an optimized tread design, which Goodyear says allows it to achieve 37% more mileage than the average lifespan of its competitors.
Goodyear will also offer an extra level of off-road performance for customers who want their vehicles to go even further. The Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac will be available from Land Rover retailers in 18in, 19in and 20in sizes to fit the Defender. The tire incorporates the TractiveGroove technology which contributes toward optimal traction on surfaces, such as mud or snow.
