Giti’s GAR206 and GDR207 tires have been used in China’s heavy-truck market for the first time, fitted to the Mercedes-Benz Actros truck produced at Daimler’s Beijing automobile plant.
Equipped on the Actros in a 315/40R22.5 size, the tires benefit from an A grade in rolling resistance, verified following tests conducted by Giti on a large domestic fleet with standard load conditions. Compared with similar tires on the market, the GAR206 and GDR207 consumed 3.6% less fuel while providing high wear resistance and performance.
Further rounds of objective tests – such as wet-grip braking, handling stability and reliability – were conducted to ensure the tires were suitable for the Daimler model.
In addition to low rolling resistance, the Giti tires feature a high level of durability, handling stability and driving comfort for interior occupants of the Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
The Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks fitted with the Giti GAR206 and GDR207 tires are expected to reach customers in November 2022.
