Since February this year, Yokohama Rubber has been supplying its BluEarth-GT AE51 tires in size 215/65R16 98H and 225/50R18 95V as the original equipment for the bZ3 electric vehicle being sold by FAW Toyota in China.
The BluEarth-GT AE51 grand touring tire has been designed by Yokohama using materials technology found in the BluEarth range to ensure it delivers environmental and driving performance in addition to comfort for vehicle occupants. The tires also feature a highly rigid cover material engineered to provide stability and less road noise.
Yokohama’s BluEarth-GT AE51 also has a low-heat generating compound to reduce rolling resistance and has been structurally tuned to provide additional comfort.
The bZ3 was developed by BYD Toyota EV Technology – a joint venture established by Toyota and BYD – and FAW Toyota.
Alongside the FAW Toyota supply, Yokohama Rubber is using feedback from EV makers to further enhance and develop the performance of its replacement tire portfolio to meet the demands of changing vehicle types.
