Sumitomo Rubber Industries has begun supplying its high-performance Falken Ziex ZE001 all-season tires to Subaru as factory standard tires on the latest Levorg Layback, unveiled in September and developed for the Japanese market.
The Ziex ZE001 A/S, which has also been used on Subaru’s Crosstek SUV, is designed to offer high levels of steering stability, as well as fuel efficiency on dry roads and snow. Given the growing consumer interest in all-season tires in recent years, tire makers such as SRI are increasingly seeing the benefit of high-performance A/S designs tailored to suit any and all types of conditions.
The tire features a new tread pattern that optimizes the distribution of ribs as well as the form factor of lateral grooves to achieve high performance on snow. At the same time, thanks to an advanced new rubber compound, the Ziex ZE001 A/S also records a significant reduction in rolling resistance without sacrificing grip performance.
The tire will be available in the Japanese market in size 225/55R18 98V.
