The WinterContact TS 870 and WinterContact TS 870 P winter tires from Continental have been approved by Ford for fitment to the OEM’s latest Explorer, Fiesta, Focus, Mustang and Puma models.
Both winter tires deliver safe handling in dry and snow-covered scenarios, in addition to providing short braking distances when stopping on ice. Furthermore, the tires ensure precise steering and good safety reserves in all weather conditions.
Continental’s WinterContact TS 870 and 870 P tires were designed from the ground up by its engineers to ensure the tread pattern and rubber compound were optimized before reaching the market. Compared to its predecessor, the WinterContact TS 870 benefits from an ice braking distance which is 3% shorter, while handling on snow has been enhanced by 5%. The tire’s overall service life has also been extended by 10%. In comparison to its previous iteration, the WinterContact TS 870 P’s tire life is 16% higher.
The WinterContact TS 870 is suitable for application to compact, mid-sized and entry-level luxury cars, while the WinterContact TS 870 P is designed for sedans, SUVs and sports cars. Due to its stable design, the tire can also be used for heavier forms of transport with electric drivetrains.
