BYD’s Seal U electric car will come equipped with Continental’s PremiumContact C tires in 235/50 R19 99V size as original equipment.
These tires are designed for quiet and energy efficient driving of EVs and feature a special silica in the rubber compound that reduces energy absorption through the tire while the vehicle is in motion, which reduces friction and rolling resistance, improving range and tread life. Noise breakers in the tread and a noise-reducing design significantly lower the rolling sounds of the PremiumContact C and a rounded contact patch that distributes the pressure evenly provides a low-impact ride even at high speeds.
All tires from Continental meet the requirements of electric vehicles and are also able to sustainably reduce emissions from combustion vehicles. Continental says that in the Asia-Pacific region, the five most successful manufacturers of EVs have recently relied on Continental tires as original equipment for their vehicles.
