Continental has announced that its PremiumContact 6 tires have been selected by Jaguar as the original equipment for the all-electric I-PACE.
Jaguar chose to fit its vehicles with the PremiumContact 6 summer tires in a 22in size with the XL (extra load) rating and Continental’s ContiSeal puncture protection system.
The ContiSeal technology enables drivers to continue driving even if a puncture occurs. On the inside of the tire, a highly elastic protective layer encapsulates any foreign objects that puncture the tire, sealing the area and preventing air loss. The manufacturer claims that holes up to 5mm can be sealed and that the system can prevent around 80% of all common punctures.
Furthermore, the tire has been designed to deliver dynamic handling characteristics, short braking distances, high-speed cornering stability and driving comfort.
