Bridgestone has announced it is continuing its successful partnership with German car maker BMW as the sole tire supplier for the new i3s.
The new tires respond to some specific changes made to the i3s. The vehicle has a sportier appearance with a broader rear track and more expansive rear wheel wells. As such Bridgestone has chosen to deliver tires 20mm wider than those on the i3, exemplifying the wider, sportier look of the new vehicle, while ensuring adequate traction to maximize the increased power and torque.
“Ologic technology helps drivers to get the best performance from their vehicles, and this is without any trade-off in terms of safety,” explained Christophe de Valroger, VP of original equipment at Bridgestone EMEA.
“We use a narrow Ecopia EP500 tread pattern that ensures excellent grip, even in wet weather conditions. The tire has been awarded a B for rolling resistance and wet grip on the EU label.”
“Bridgestone and BMW share a commitment to developing products that contribute to a sustainable future. Ologic technology should help us in achieving one of our long-term goals: a 50% global reduction in CO2 emissions by 2050.”
