Lexus has selected Bridgestone’s Alenza 001 and Alenza Sport A/S tires for its Lexus RX.
The Alenza 001 and Alenza Sport A/S tires for the new RX are ‘Dan-Totsu’ [the Japanese term for the “absolute and clear leader”, adopted by Lexus as part of its five-year plan] products that feature the tire technology Enliten.
According to Bridgestone, the Enliten technology in the tires is suited to EVs because it a carbon-neutral mobility society. The tire casing of these tires uses materials that reduce rolling resistance to improve fuel efficiency along with a contact patch and pattern design customized for RX to deliver a better and more comfortable driving experience and driving performance.
The Lexus RX was released in Japan in November 2022. Alenza 001 tires will be supplied for use on vehicles sold in Japan, Europe and Asia, while Alenza Sport A/S tires will feature on vehicles marketed in North America.
Lexus states that the RX “ushers in a new era for the luxury crossover segment” with technological and stylistic improvements and a diverse powertrain portfolio encompassing Lexus Electrified variants and six grades including F Sport Performance AWD.
