The Audi A3 Allstreet features Falken Azenis FK510A AO tires are original fitment. The sizes available are 205/55R17 95W XL, 225/45R18 95W XL and 225/49R19 93W XL, which have been supplied on the A3 crossover since April this year.
According to Auto Bild tests, the Azenis FK510 performs well on dry and wet conditions supporting performance-oriented drivers. On wet tarmac, the Falken tires’ braking distance of approximately 48m (47.9 m) in an emergency stop from 100km/h is only 2m behind the best-placed car in this category. The tires also proved effective on the watered circular track and were less than one second behind the winner in the category.
When it comes to road safety, aquaplaning is a key consideration. With a float speed of 98km/h when measured on the rain-soaked surface, the Falken offered good resistance to aquaplaning. The Azenis use an advanced 4D nano design technology for optimum grip and the specially developed rubber compound helps create a particularly strong grip on wet surfaces. This is supported by special “blade sipes” – small incisions in the treads that break open the film of water to prevent aquaplaning and enable optimal contact with the road.
The rubber compound is also abrasion-resistant and Falken’s Adaptive Constant Pressure technology ensures even pressure distribution on the surface of the road, which enables the FK510 to achieve better mileage.
“The Azenis FK510 boasts outstanding driving dynamics, high safety standards and durability, all made possible by innovative technology. We are convinced that this product will fully meet the high standards of the drivers of the Audi A3 Allstreet,” said Christian Stolting, OE sales director at Falken Tire Europe.
