Apollo Tyres had announced it will enter the row crop tire segment in early 2025, with the Vredestein VF (Very-High Flexion) sprayer tire the first model in this category.
Farmers and contractors depend on these tires for use in trailed and self-propelled crop sprayers, where a narrow tread is required to drive between crop rows. The tire enables stable driving behavior while managing the substantial lateral forces that occur because of the sprayer’s high center of gravity. Sprayer tires must also be resistant to the high levels of wear that can result from on-road driving and the use of four-wheel steering.
For the development of the new tire, Apollo Tyres’ objectives were stability, self-cleaning and long life. “This product will be an important addition to our VF agricultural portfolio, ensuring we have highly competitive solutions across all key categories,” said Guido Boerkamp, global head of off-highway products at Apollo Tyres.”
Further technical information and performance data are set to be announced ahead of its launch at EIMA International 2024 in Bologna, Italy, on November 6-10.
