Goodyear has released a tire aimed at the ever-growing SUV crossover market called the UltraGrip Performance+ SUV, which is stated to be a versatile winter tire.
The manufacturer claims a mileage gain of 13% thanks to the integration of Goodyear’s Mileage Plus Technology, a high-elasticity tread that is claimed to enable better wear resistance and durability.
Alongside this, a newly developed compound enhances elasticity at low temperatures to provide vehicles with better grip attributes in snow- and ice-covered driving scenarios. Lastly, a resin formulation, dubbed Traction Protect Technology, improves the tire’s deformation and reformation capabilities for improved braking.
“UltraGrip Performance+ SUV combines our test-winning winter technologies with our expertise in developing tires for the demands of SUV, 4×4 and crossover drivers,” commented Laurent Colantonio, Goodyear’s regional technology director, Consumer Tires EMEA.
“Many of these drivers are attracted to these types of vehicle by a desire for safety, traction and versatility. UltraGrip Performance+ SUV gives these drivers a tire that delivers in the most demanding winter conditions.”
The tire range features 33 SKUs from 16in to 20in to cover a wide part of the SUV and crossover market, encompassing compact urban vehicles and large 4x4s.
