Celsius, an all-season tire aimed at taxi applications, is to be launched by Toyo Tire in August 2023.
Toyo further developed the already available standard Celsius tire’s tread compound and added several more wear-resistant polymers and carbon to create a taxi-specific compound with an enhanced wear rate, to cope with the vehicles’ extended operating times and distances.
Taxis drive in a wide array of weather conditions, so to optimize the tire for these ever-changing scenarios, Toyo engineered the Celsius with an asymmetrical tread pattern to deliver performance when driving on snow-covered surfaces.
The all-season tire features the 3PMS mark, denoting its suitability for use in cold weather. This could negate the need for users to change from summer to winter tires.
