Continental has announced that it is equipping the new smart #3 Brabus with EcoContact 6 Q tires.
The EcoContact 6 Q energy-saving tires in 20in size will be the original equipment for the car. Continental has designed the EcoContact 6 Q for energy-saving and low-noise driving.
The specially developed rubber compound reduces energy absorption while driving, which in turn reduces friction as well as rolling resistance, according to Continental. Additionally, the tires have been optimized to minimize rolling noise. The EcoContact 6 Q delivers particularly long mileage and high braking performance as well as good handling characteristics – thanks to modified blocks, sipes and lateral grooves.
Furthermore, Continental states that the tire also offers reliable grip on dry and wet roads as well as very good cornering stability, even at high speeds.
Continental states that when developing tires, as well as focusing on low rolling resistance, low rolling noise, high mileage and safety, it also considers the overall weight of electric vehicles, which can be greater due to the battery. It has been producing passenger car tires with the special HL load index code identifying their heavyweight capacity since 2021.
