A new size of the P Zero Corsa tire developed specifically for application to the latest Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT offers “performance, sportiness and control”, the tire maker says.
Working in close collaboration with Porsche, Pirelli’s summer tire can be used on the road and the track and benefits from a compound derived and designed using the tire maker’s previous motorsport experience.
The tire’s tread pattern provides “optimal handling in all driving conditions” in addition to delivering a high level of traction on wet and dry surfaces. The dual compound and asymmetric tread offer a balance between speed and grip in addition to a strong resistance to the high energy loads associated with performance vehicles. Prominent blocks on the tire’s shoulder and a continuous central groove also help to improve corner handling.
Produced in a 285/35ZR22 XL (106 Y) for the front axle of the Cayenne Turbo GT and a 315/30ZR22 XL (107 Y) for the rear, the P Zero Corsa tires feature an NO marking on the sidewall to identify them as tires produced specifically for the Porsche.
The P Zero Corsa is produced in more than 30 sizes to suit diameters from 19in to 22in, with some featuring Pirelli’s noise-cancelling system (PNCS). The PNCS consists of a sound-deadening material fitted within the tire to soak up vibrations and subsequently reduce road noise within the cabin.
