Tire manufacturer Nexen Tire has announced that its manufacturing plant in Žatec, Czech Republic, has produced its first OE tires, which will equip the Hyundai Tucson.
According to Nexen, operations at the plant have stabilized despite the current Covid-19 pandemic, and the company is looking to expand the plant’s roll in the supply of OE tires, leveraging its central European location, which gives it access to 30 car manufacturers within a 400km radius.
The Tucson will be fitted with Nexen’s N’FERA Primus tire, in sizes 215/65R17, 235/55R18 and 235/50R19, for vehicles that will be sold in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America markets.
The N’FERA Primus was launched in 2019 and is a European-style high-performance tire usable at speeds of up to 300km/h. Its tread design features a 3+1 groove pattern to maximize water clearance, augmented with three stiff tread ribs and 3D lateral grooves to improve grip.
