Cooper Tire has expanded its Cooper Severe Series truck and bus radial (TBR) tire line with the introduction of the new Cooper Severe Series Mixed Service Drive (MSD), a drive tire for demanding mixed service applications. A deep 32/32nds tire, the product is designed to handle the toughest off-road conditions and provide a long service life with even wear.
“The new Cooper Severe Series MSD is engineered to withstand the heavy scrub and cut and chip environments required of off-highway tires,” said Gary Schroeder, executive director of Cooper’s global truck and bus tire business. “The Cooper Severe Series MSD and all Cooper TBR tires provide performance that helps reduce fleets’ tire operating costs.”
Triangular tie-bars in the outside shoulder help promote traction throughout the life of the Cooper Severe Series MSD, while also mitigating heel-toe wear. Designed to reduce total cost of ownership, the highly engineered, durable casing includes stone ejectors to ensure multiple retreads beyond the original tread life.
The new product also features proprietary compounds, which work with the special tread design engineered to meet the harsh performance requirements of mixed service applications.
The Cooper Severe Series MSD is offered in two sizes, 11 R22.5 (LRH) and 11 R24.5 (LRH), which are available for shipment as of November 1.
