Goodyear’s new Ultra Grip Performance tire for SUVs is said to provide extremely high performance in wintery conditions. The IceGrip soft compound maintains high flexibility at very low temperatures, which means low stiffness and more stickiness, for good grip on ice and snow.
The company’s ActiveGrip technology increases the tire’s footprint for improved stability and enhanced grip and braking performance.
The tread pattern has been adapted for SUVs to deliver optimal braking and traction on snowy and icy roads: the tire blocks are now angled – instead of the previous straight shape – to improve grip.
