Michelin has launched the Pro 5 bicycle tire, designed for the most experienced riders undertaking long outings or road racing.
The company says it has used advanced technologies to completely redesign its road bicycle tires. The new Pro 5 is more efficient than its predecessor, the Pro 4 Endurance, while also boasting a 35% improvement in forward resistance. This has been achieved thanks to the new tubeless design and a mixture of Michelin Gum-X rubbers.
The Pro 5 has been developed to give cyclists maximum comfort, grip and durability on dry and wet surfaces. Its internal structure allows the cyclist to reduce the inflation pressure for a more comfortable ride at all speeds.
The combination of the specific tread design and the Gum-X rubbers provides excellent wet braking for greater safety when training. Michelin says that the new tire was validated under real conditions by all types of potential users: amateur cyclists who ride locally, ultra-distance enthusiasts and professional racers. Testing covered over 100,000km.
According to Michelin, scientific measurements prove that the Pro 5 is more airtight than its predecessor, the Power Cup TLR. Compatible with many road bikes, the Pro 5 is offered in widths from 28-35mm. It is available in two wall colors: black or brown.
